ADHD can affect your life as an adult, especially if it hasn’t been diagnosed
Many adults go through life wondering why they feel different. You may struggle with:
Focus
Maintaining motivation
Time management
Despite your best efforts! If this sounds familiar, you may have undiagnosed ADHD. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) isn’t just a childhood condition; it often persists into adulthood, affecting careers, relationships, and daily functioning.
If you feel like something’s off in your daily functioning, ADHD assessment can be the first step on the way to finding the answer.
What is ADHD? What are the signs of adult ADHD?
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in adults is a mental condition that affects attention, impulse control, and organization. Many adults with ADHD do not realize they have the disorder, which may adversely affect their daily functioning.

Signs of adult ADHD:
-
Chronic procrastination and difficulty starting or completing tasks
-
Poor time management and disorganization
-
Struggles with focus, especially on tasks that are not immediately engaging
-
Impulsivity in decision-making, spending, or conversations
-
Feeling overwhelmed by daily responsibilities
-
Difficulty regulating emotions, leading to frustration or mood swings
-
Forgetfulness and frequently misplacing items
-
Hyperfocus on specific interests, losing track of time
Why are so many adults diagnosed late in life?
For many, ADHD goes unrecognized in childhood, especially in individuals who are bright, high-achieving, or have developed unique coping mechanisms to manage their symptoms. Without an early diagnosis, they may have been labelled as "lazy," "forgetful," or "easily distracted" rather than receiving the support they needed.
It’s common for adults to seek an ADHD assessment after experiencing challenges in higher education, career advancement, or personal relationships. Others may recognize symptoms in themselves after their own children are diagnosed.

A professional ADHD assessment can provide clarity and validation, helping you understand how your brain works and what strategies can improve your daily life.
